Fees & Insurance

Insurance

DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?

I am currently in-network with Aetna, United Healthcare/Optum Healthcare, Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS), and the North Carolina State Employee Health Plan. I am considered out-of-network for other insurers. Copays are due at the beginning of a session.

If you are hoping to use an out-of-network plan you will want to call your insurer and ask the following questions:

  • Do I have mental health insurance benefits?

  • What is my out-of-network mental health benefit reimbursement rate?

  • Do I have a deductible and has it been met?

WHAT IS A “SUPER BILL?”

If you have an insurance plan that is not accepted by this practice, or if you would prefer not to use insurance, I am happy to provide a document at the end of each session called a “super bill.” This is something clients can submit directly to their insurance companies to get full- or partial-reimbursement for their therapy sessions.

Fees & Services

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Individual therapy sessions (50 minutes): $140

Extended individual therapy session (75 - 90 minutes): $180

Brief therapy sessions (25-30 minutes): $70

Phone sessions: Fees based on applied time, billed in 15-minute increments. Please note that telephone sessions are not covered by insurance.

This practice operates on a “fee-for-service” model which means that fees are collected at the beginning of each session.

CANCELLATION POLICY: No-shows and cancellations made fewer than 24 hours before an appointment will incur a cancellation fee of $50. Please take care to avoid this, especially since they aren’t covered by insurance.
